ABSTRACT

This study investigated the impact of truancy on the students’ academic performance in Egor local government area of Edo State. Four (4) research questions were raised to guide the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study consist of total number of two hundred and twenty seven (227) teachers are in Egor local government area of Edo State. A total of one hundred (100) teachers within the area of the study was selected using purposive sampling technique. The questionnaire was the major instrument used for the study. The questionnaire was titled “Impact of Truancy on Students’ Academic Performance Questionnaire (ITSPQ)”. It questionnaire was designed and validated by experts in the department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques such as tables, frequencies counts, and simple percentages.
