ABSTRACT
This study was designed to ascertain the integration of the Impact of Special Education Service Delivery On Academic Performance of Students with Hearing Impairment in Ihogbe College, Benin city. Four (4) research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey. The total population of special students in Ihogbe College, Benin City was slated as 100 students. The random sampling technique was used to select the respondents for this study. The research instrument for the study was a Questionnaire titled: “The Impact Of Special Education Service Delivery On Student's Academic Performance (ISESDAPQ)”, which was distributed to the respondents and collected immediately after completion from respondents. The simple percentage and mean score was used in computing the responses of the questionnaire items. To account for the reliability of the study, the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used which gave a value of 0. 821. At the end of the study, the findings indicated a positive perception among respondents regarding the provision of various services such as counselling, placement services, assistive technology, interpreting, auditory amplification, and parental counselling and training. Teachers affirmed the availability of these services, suggesting that they play a significant role in supporting the academic performance of students with hearing impairment.
