ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to investigate the impact of Parental Substance abuse on the household dynamics in Ekosodin Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area. Edo State. Five research questions and hypotheses were raised and analyzed for the purpose of the study.Parental substance abuse has far-reaching consequences on household dynamics, affecting not only the individual but also the entire family. This study investigates the impact of parental substance abuse on household dynamics in Ekosodin Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State. The findings reveal that parental substance abuse significantly disrupts household dynamics, leading to increased conflict, emotional distress, and neglect of parental responsibilities. Additionally, the study highlights the consequences of substance abuse on family relationships, financial stability, and the overall well-being of family members. The study recommends targeted interventions, such as counseling, support groups, and community-based programs, to address the root causes of substance abuse and mitigate its effects on household dynamics.
