ABSTRACT
This study critically examines the Impact of migration on family welfare in Isiohor community in Benin City. The purpose of this study was to determine the respondent’s views toward the subject matter. Also, this study intended to find out among other things the impact of migration on household members, standard of living as well as the implication on the environment. In addition, it created the nexus between migration of persons in Isiohor community toward the development in the community. Furthermore, it established a relationship between migration and it consequences on the general living among residence. From objective one it was observed that most of the respondents have various opinion toward migration as well as it prevalence in Isiohor community. On the instigating factor that lead to the migration issues the study find out that rapid urban development was a major factor to this and this has led to a ripple effect on the standard of living within the community. On the ground of development, the study was able to relate migration to the physical transformation that is taking place within the community.
