ABSTRACT 

This study was designed to determine the Impact of lifelong learning on the socio economic wellbeing of women in Benin city. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, five (5) Research questions were raised. This study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The sampling technique of the study contains two hundred (200) women who responded. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire. The expert judgement approach was used for the validity of the instrument determined by experts in the department of Adult Education, while the reliability of the instrument was ascertained through the test-retest method.

The researcher employed the use of frequency count, and simple percentage to analyze collected data. Findings from the study revealed that informal learning, formal learning, self-motivated learning, self-funded learning, action learning, vocational training and universal learning are forms of lifelong learning available to women in Egor local government Benin city. This study also shows that women in Egor local government area ,Benin city have a positive perception towards lifelong learning. This study also shows that lifelong learning has an impact on the social wellbeing of women in EGOR local government,Benin city, as it provides them with better opportunities in the society. 

This study also portrays that lifelong learning has an impact on the economic well-being of women in Egor local government,Benin city. The study also shows that early marriage, marital union, poverty, health issues, religion and traditional practices are factors militating against women access to lifelong learning. Based on the findings and conclusions made, it was recommended that efforts should be made by Government and Non-Governmental Organizations to increase the number of available lifelong learning centers in Egor local government ,Benin city. Programme planners should also review the curricular content to accommodate socio economic development of the participants. Government and Programme planners should pay more attention and invest heavily in the training of women to keep participating in lifelong learning programmes in Egor local government, Benin city.
