ABSTRACT
The assessed the role of ICT in effective library service in special libraries. Three (3) questions were raised for the study. The study adopted survey research design. Questionnaire was used as the instrument for collecting data; it was built around the research question by the researcher and validated by the researcher’s supervisor. Data collected were analyzed using frequency count, percentages, mean and standard deviation The major findings of the study are as follows: there is availability of ICT facilities provision for library services to users with special library. the level of ICT use and satisfaction of information need and seeking behavior of users with special library is high. the challenges affecting the provision of library services to users with special library include: getting the required money to maintain and upgrade the equipment and software, Inadequate money to pay license fees is a challenge, and continuous renewal of payment for access to electronic journals and online databases. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations are made: librarians should be encouraged and aided on the appreciation of internet facilities amongst others.
