ABSTRACT
This study investigated Impact of Industrial Training on Students Interest in the use of Technology on Textile design in Vocational Education in Nigerian universities using the university of Benin as a case study. The purpose of the study was specifically to discover the Impact of Industrial Training on Students Interest in the use of Technology on Textile design in Vocational Education, determine if Industrial training has an Impact on Students Interest in the use of technology in Printed and dyed textiles, determine if Industrial training has an Impact on Students Interest in the use of technology in woven textile design and to determine if Industrial training has an Impact on Students Interest in the use of technology in mixed media textile design in the university of Benin. The information gathered in this study was analyzed using Tables, simple percentages and frequencies. the proportionate sampling technique was used in the selection of the sample size. A 10-item questionnaire were administered for the students used in the research. A total of 30 respondent comprising of 400 level students from the university of Benin were given questionnaires to fill for the study. After collecting the data obtained from the instruments, the mean scores of the data obtained were used to analyze and determine the degree of the relationship of the variables involved. The researcher discovered in the study that Industrial Training in ways such as Preparing individuals for the workforce, Bridging the gap between theory and practical, and enhancing employability and productivity has a significant impact on Students interest in the use of technology on Textile design in vocational education in Nigerian Universities. The researcher concluded by recommending that Nigerian Universities, the government should provide adequate fundings, Infastructure, and should prioritize industrial training in their textile design programs to provide students with hands-on experience in using technology for textile design.
