This study explores the impact of home management residency practicum on the self-reliance of home economics students. Through a review of literature and experiential insights, the study aims to uncover the ways in which the practicum experience contributes to the development of self-reliance skills in students. The emphasis is placed on practical application, independence, problem-solving skills, reflective practice, and mentorship as key elements influencing self-reliance. The findings suggest that the residency practicum provides students with hands-on experiences that promote self-reliance by fostering practical skills, independence, and the ability to navigate real-world challenges. Recommendations for maximizing the impact of the residency practicum on self-reliance are presented, highlighting the significance of mentorship, reflective practice, and opportunities for personal growth. Ultimately, the study underscores the vital role of the home management residency practicum in equipping home economics students with the self-reliance competencies necessary for their future personal and professional endeavors.
