ABSTRACT
The study is focused on the impact ofevolution of film on communication. The objectives of the study were to find out the habits developed by the audience towards film consumption, to find out the audience perception of films communication and to determine the impact of film evolution on the communication experience. For its methodology, the survey research method was used to gather the data used for the study. Findings of the study revealed that advancement in film technology such as virtual reality and CGI have affected how stories are told in films. People now prefer action films due to the better story line and make believe scenes created by CGI. The findings also indicated that films have made viewers to better under the cultures and way of life of different societies. Based on the findings, the researcher concluded that evolution of films in modern times have influenced how viewers consume media contents. The researcher therefore recommended among other things that the popularity of streaming platforms and television broadcasts should be capitalized on by prioritizing the production and distribution of action, comedy, and drama films. It was also recommended that advancements in film technology such as virtual reality and CGI should be embraced to enhance storytelling techniques and engage audiences in innovative ways.
