ABSTRACT

The study investigated the impact of environmental education on student's knowledge and attitude towards waste recycling in University of Benin. To guide this study, four research questions were raised and they were all answered. The study adopted quasi experimental survey design, 50 respondents were purposively selected from two Department (Health, Safety and Environmental Education (HSE), Human Kinetics and Sport science (HKS) 100level student respectively which was the population of the study. The instruments used in collecting the data were a structured questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using a simple percentage and frequency counts for descriptive analysis. The study revealed that environmental education has a strong impact on student's knowledge and attitude towards waste recycling in the University of Benin. Thus, schools especially higher education should include environmental education into their curriculum. Awareness campaigns should be organized in order to provide adequate information about waste recycling to the students.
