ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to examine employee benefits and workers’ performance in private hospitals. The objectives of the study is to examine the relationship between fringe benefits, insurance benefit, retirement benefit, paid time off benefit and workers performance. This Study adopted a survey research instrument through administration of questionnaires to two hundred and forty (240) staff of Faith Mediplex Hospital, Benin City, Edo State. The data for the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and ordinary simple regression techniques. The empirical evidence shows that fringe benefit has a positive and significant relationship with employee job performance, paid time off has a positive and significant relationship with employee job performance, retirement benefit has a positive and significant relationship with employee job performance, while insurance benefit has a positive and insignificant relationship with employee job performance. The Study recommends that more employee benefits should be provided in the area of retirement, insurance and paid time off in order to improve performance of workers in private hospitals.
