ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of education on the use of family planning in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State. The objectives of the study were to examine whether the prevailing educational structure encourages the use of family planning in Ovia North East LGA, Edo State; ascertain the effect of religious/traditional beliefs on use of family planning Ovia North East LGA, Edo State, and examine the extent education can help change or improve the citizens belief system, so as to create in them positive attitude towards family planning and contraceptive use in Ovia North East LGA, Edo State. The survey research design was employed for this study. The instrument used in this research project is a self-structured questionnaire. In the analysis of the data collected the researcher was employ the use of frequency count and simple percentage. The findings from the study revealed that low level of involvement of individual in family planning is to a large extent attained by the level of education of the individual findings revealed the greater awareness in the issues given as well as pains of family planning will increase peoples involvement and that it may own opinion is only possible through education. Subsequently, the research also revealed that if family planning programmes and activities are to soared and attires its sat out good, we must first improve on our educational system and access, and that, there is the need for changes and improvement on one educational sector. The study further revealed that the average Nigerian citizen the limiting the size of one’s children in a definite number as largely and such should be from also revealed that the belief and other relatives believes like the idea of children on a gracious gift from God and also children as active players in the economic activities have greatly affected the desire and willingness of the people towards family planning and contraceptive usage.
