ABSTRACT
The study investigated the knowledge and Perception of Drug Abuse Among Secondary School Students in Ekosodin. Additionally, it sought to identify the common types of drugs used by students, explore the factors associated with drug use and abuse, and assess the impact of drug use on academic performance and overall well-being.
The study utilized a field survey to collect data, and the responses from the participants were analyzed and discussed in the previous chapters.
The findings from the survey include: The study revealed that the level of knowledge of drug abuse among secondary school students in Ekosodin is high. The study revealed that the common types of drugs used by secondary school students in the area include: marijuana, other illicit substances, alcohol, tobacco products, and the misuse of prescription drugs. the factors associated with drug use and abuse among secondary school students in Ekosodin include: Peer pressure, family background, drug accessibility, and a lack of awareness and education. Based on the findings, the following recommendations are proposed: School-Based Prevention Programs: Implement comprehensive drug prevention programs within secondary schools that address the specific needs and challenges of students in Ekosodin. These programs should incorporate evidence-based interventions, awareness campaigns, and support systems.
