ABSTRACT
At inception in 1970, Africare international as a diaspora body came into the scene of international relations as a humanitarian body dedicated to alleviating African States from challenges that are socio-economically inclined. However, over the years, the focus and fabric of international relations have changed so much so that the supposed apolitical Africare has assumed a political influence both unexpected and sometimes immeasurable. Precisely, 2017 showed how deeply Africare international involved in the political transactions of states when it raised concerns over the foreign policy proposal of President Donald Trump and at the same time lobbied the congress black cacus in the US congress to galvanize support for their course against the said foreign policy proposal of the US President. This study therefore will examine Africare’s involvement in African states and vis a vis its impact in world politics as a diasporic body. Being a quantitative research the data analysis technique that was adopted in answering these questions is the interpretative technique. Secondary sources were engaged in the collection of relevant data for the research such as articles, documentaries, newsletters, historical documents, literary texts, reviews, commentaries, journals, academic papers that were useful in this study. This study therefore recommends that structure and commitments, the recommendation is that premium been given to uncovering the achievements Africare has made with respect to the African continent and black people in general.
