Summary
The study investigated the impact of decision making process on school management effectiveness in public secondary schools in Edo State. Seven research questions were raised to guide the study, four were answered and three were hypothesized and tested at 0.05 alpha level using t-test statistics and Pearson Product Correlation Coefficient. The study employed the descriptive research survey design. The population of the study comprised a total of two thousand, four hundred and nine 2409 teachers and three hundred and fourteen (314) schools. The sample comprised 347 teachers who were selected from 45 schools for the study. The respondents were purposely selected from the sampled secondary. The instrument was a questionnaire tagged “Impact of Decision Making Process on School Management Effectiveness in Public Secondary Schools Questionnaire”. The reliability of the instrument was established at 0.75 which indicated that the instrument was reliable. The data was analyzed using the 93 descriptive mean statistics for the research questions, and the data obtained for hypotheses 5-7 were analyzed using t-test and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at level of significance.
