ABSTRACT
According to Durkheim, education is a process of socialization that prepares individuals for their role in society. The development of every society lies in its population. If the higher percentage of a society’s population are illiterate, that society is doomed to fail. The COVID 19 pandemic led to an unexpected turn of event in the Nigeria educational system. The pandemic led to the shutting down of all educational system in Nigeria. The closure of schools and universities has caused disruptions to the educational system, resulting in learning loss for many students. the psychological toll on students has also been a concern as many have had to cope with the stress of the pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding their education. The economic strain faced by educational institutions and families has also been of significant concern. Despite these challenges, the pandemic had also led to personal growth in the life of both students and lecturers. This study also recommend the investment in remote learning.
