ABSTRACT

This research evaluates the effects of closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera surveillance on crime prevention as installed in several areas of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The principal aim of this study was to explore the evaluation of camera surveillance for crime prevention reduction and control. The results show that, although there is a lack of substantial evidence to show that camera surveillance reduces crime, there is large support for the system from both the workers and patients alike. By exploring this project, it gives way to ultimately improve its current use, that is contribute to its advancement of knowledge in the area of surveillance and security.
