SUMMARY
Anaerobic co-digestion (AcD) of food waste and agricultural residues provides a sustainable valorization route for biogas production. The AcD process, despite being a matured approach and effective means for the production of biogas, is still affected by some major limitations. These limitations are: process efficiencies and product quality assurance (impacted by instabilities induced by highly degradable organic substrates). Also, this study portrait the challenges with the AcD process. This study examines the impact of biochar on the biogas yield during AcD of CRC and FW.
