SUMMARY
This study has examined the Human Trafficking in Nigeria. The study examined the concept of sexual exploitation of women, the origin and cause of human trafficking of women for sexual exploitation in Nigeria, the role of NAPTIP in addressing human trafficking, challenges facing human trafficking in Nigeria.
The study all over the world, is that men and women especially women and children are been trafficked and is regarded by both the police and human right groups as one of the fastest growing enterprises on the world and it is considered to be the third largest sources of profit for organized crime behind drugs and guns. According to Tristina kanga spunta, the executive officer of the applied research program of the UNHRC, “white slavery is obtaining of a white woman or girl by the use of force, drugs or by dishonesty, for sex which is unwanted by the girl or woman”.

These business men may be Nigerians or foreigners employers who look for cheap labour that they can exploit. Also, creator of phony websites and those who advertise women as brides to potential buyers from Europe and American and even on Nigeria and other neighbouring countries, poor and desperate families who sell their children to recruit recruiters who may be relatives of victims. Despite conscientious efforts aimed at eradicating human trafficking in Nigeria. The trend seems to be on the increase in Nigeria and it is understood to account for the highest number of victims for trafficking for sexual exploitation to Europe and other foreign countries.
