SUMMARY
This research study was embarked upon to study human resources outsourcing in Nigeria and how it meets the expectation of the organization: performance and on employees work attitudes. To do this, questionnaires were distributed to seventy one (71) companies; these companies were considered as the sample size of the research study.
Descriptive statistics, simple percentage and bar charts were used to analyse the data received, and the result was consequently presented and interpreted.
In the end, the major findings of the research showed that job analysis & design, training and development and recruitment constitute core HR activities, while health and safety administration is believed to constitute the least core HR activity. Also, the main reason organizations outsource their HR activity is to enable HR staff focus more on business strategy and on core business, and also to save operational cost. Though, a lot of the organizations did not face any obstacles, the few who did stated lack of qualified vendors/suppliers, fear of changing organizational culture and resistance from to management as the obstacles they faced during HR outsourcing Finally, it was showed that with organizations outsourcing their HR activities, performance has greatly improved, especially in the areas of the strategic impact of HR, efficiency of HR activities, and speed in service delivery but there was no reduction in costs savings. Also, with outsourcing, employees are now more engaged and committed to work; there is no change in staff knowledge and development.
