ABSTRACT
This study was carried out with the aim to examine human capital development and workforce productivity. The specific objectives of the study were to determine the relationship between orientation programme, on-the-job training programme, coaching/mentoring programme on workforce productivity. To achieve this objective, a total of three hundred and seventy (370) questionnaires were administered to the respondents, and three hundred and forty (340) of the questionnaires were properly filled, returned and were used for the analysis.
The data gathered from the administered questionnaires, were analyzed using two methods, the simple percentages and the Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The hypotheses of this study were tested using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression technique.
The findings from analysis revealed among other things that the management of public health institutions in Benin City, Edo State should sustain the practice of orientation programme in their various health institutions so as to maintain the positive and significant relationship between orientation programme, on-the-job training programme, coaching/mentoring programme and workforce productivity in public health institutions in Benin City, Edo State.
