ABSTRACT
This study focused on the relationship and impact of human capital development on organizational performance in the private universities in Edo State. The study examined the relationship between human capital development and organizational performance in selected private universities. The study adopted the cross-sectional survey research design. Research data were analysed using both the descriptive and inferential statistics which include frequency tables, simple percentage analysis, and correlation and regression analysis. The research empirically showed that staff training (ST) has a positive and significant relationship on organizational performance in the private universities in Edo State; development (SD) has a positive and significant relationship on organizational performance in the private universities in Edo State. The study therefore, recommended that policy makers and private universities management should design and organize adequate training and development programmes for their staff members so as to guarantee greater level of performance; management of private universities should embrace new errand more effective method of staff training and development programmes which is geared towards ICT compliance, and should be incorporated into the manpower development syllabi.
