ABSTRACT

The primary aim of this project work is to create a home automation system utilizing an Arduino board, with RF remote control accessible through any Android OS smartphone. With the continuous advancement of technology, residences are becoming increasingly intelligent. Modern houses are gradually moving from traditional switches to centralized control systems that utilize remote-controlled switches. At present, the placement of commonly used wall switches in various areas in a home poses challenges for users who need to physically approach them for operation. This task becomes even more arduous for the elderly or those with physical disabilities. Remote-controlled home automation systems offer a modern solution through smartphone control. To realize this objective, a Bluetooth module is connected to the Arduino board on the receiving end. On the transmitting end, a graphical user interface (GUI) application on the smartphone sends ON/OFF commands to the receiver, which is linked to the connected loads. By interacting with specific locations on the GUI, users can remotely turn the loads ON/OFF through this technology. The Arduino board operates the loads using mechanical relays.
