ABSTRACT

The integration between technology and architecture has not fully been optimized, it was only by latter half of the century that we started having documentations on the evolving effects of technology on our lifestyles. Now as it seems, Architecture is part of our lifestyle, it’s something we can’t do without, it’s our culture in disguise.

How technology; (in this case home automation system) has influenced architectural styles and construction is something we must all consider and note too, because definitely it has had an effect on us over time in terms of development of materials that allowed for the creation of an aesthetic that derived beauty from pure functionality.

In other to improve current knowledge, it is of great importance to examine the influence of technology on architecture using architectural space (residential buildings) as a case study.
