Microscopic examination of the testis showed spermatogenesis in the numerous and round seminiferous tubules which contained spermatogonia, primary and secondary spermatocytes, spermatids, and sertoli cells, similar cell stages of differentiation as found in other studied anuran species was observed in H. occipitalis.
