The effect of Diabetes has been too imminent in the society, being a disease with numerous side effects and accompany other diseases as well. Herbal medicine has been used over the years in the treatment of diabetes and have proven to yeild positive results. The aim of this study was to evaluate the hepatoprotective effects of the bi-herbal leaf aqueous extract on streptozotocin induced hepatotoxicity in Wistar rats. The investigation of the enzymes level and metabolites level of the liver in diabetic induced rats was established, and the hepatoprotective effect of the bi-herbal leaf aqueous extract on different organs were evaluated using standard protocol. The results obtained revealed that the bi-herbal leaf extract exhibited it's maximum inhibitory effect at the lowest dose of the bi-herbal leaf aqueous extract, when compared with higher doses of the extract at (P < 0.05). Conclusively, this findings proved that the bi-herbal extract demonstrated antidiabetic activity at lowest dose than other doses. Further investigation into this research is required to enhance it's safety and efficacy when administered.
