ABSTRACT
Heavy metals can be toxic to fish health, especially when the fishes are exposed to the high concentration of the heavy metals. In this study, the effects of heavy metal (zinc) on catfish was investigated. The juveniles catfish were placed in four different aquariums with different concentrations of zinc so as to observe their behavioral changes in the different aquariums. The initial and final concentrations of the fishes were also determined using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and the results obtained revealed the varying concentrations of zinc in the fish within the period of the experiment.
