ABSTRACT
This study assessed the health risk assessment of surface water from Ovia River, Southern Nigeria. A total of 18 water samples were collected at each location from June 2023 to August 2023. Physiochemical parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity (EC), turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), total solids (TS), dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), sulphate (SO4), phosphate (PO43), and nitrate (NO3 ) were analyzed using various recommended routine laboratory analysis. Concentrations of heavy metals were determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
