ABSTRACT
Okra belongs to the family Malvaceae. It is a widely cultivated vegetable found in all markets especially in some parts of Central Africa. It is an important vegetable in our local economy of this region. Two species of Abelmoschus were cultivated A. esculentus and A. Caillei. These two Okra show differences in their morphology and flowering characteristics. These differences include height, colour, lifespan. They also show difference in fruit characteristics such as epicalyx and number of ridges. The taxonomic implication shows that the two species belong to the same genus but different species.
