ABSTRACT
This study is aimed at investigating the perfomance of biochar derived from water hyacinth for the removal of organic matter (as chemical oxygen demand (COD) , TSS(Total suspended solids) and Turbidity from bath and laundry grey water in batch systems. This experiment was carried out by mixing a concentration of biochar with a specified volume of analyzed greywater made from bath water and laundry water at a specified time. The required parameters were measured and recorded for each specific contact time and dosage. The percentage removal of the contaminants was calculated with a mathematical equation, the results gotten was investigated and the performance of biochar made from water hyacinth was fair in the purification of greywate
