ABSTRACT
Nanoparticles represents an important part of nanotechnology that offers outstanding eco-friendly and financial benefits, when compared to conventional methods that use toxic substances and involve complex processes. Synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NP) was carried out from leaf extracts of mango (Mangifera indica). This extracts was submitted to photochemical analysis in order to confirm the presence of flavonoids, saponins, phenols, terpenoids alkaloids and tannins which confirmed the nutritional, medicinal and industrial value of the Mangifera indica leaves. The formation of nanoparticles was confirmed by SEM analysis. The material that was obtained from the extracts presented a semi-spherical morphology from the SEM carried out (Mangifera indica). The %FRSA was gotten from the absorbence point and used to calculate the IC50 value of the Zinc nanoparticle. The IC50 was found to be low which proved that Zinc nanopaarticle exhibited moderately high antioxidant activity.
