ABSTRACT

This study explored how green marketing strategies can boost sales using Nigeria Bottling Company (Coca-Cola) as a case study. The objectives of the study is to verify if safe product delivery influences customer loyalty; to determine the extent to which effective green marketing strategies results in increased sales turnover; to examine the effect of the practice of green marketing on the company’s cost of operation. A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed to both staffs and members of the general public to solicit responses from them about the green marketing strategies of the company. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage method while the hypotheses were tested using chi-square method. It was found out that: Safe product delivery influences customer loyalty and therefore impacts on the customers positively; the result also revealed that green marketing strategies contributes to increased sales turnover. Also, the result suggests or implies that practice of green marketing raises the company’s cost of operation. The study also reveals that organizations that engaged in social responsibility have better image than those that do not engage in it.
