ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of Green Human Resource Management Practices And Operational Performance Of The Nigeria Manufacturing Industry, Benin City , Edo State. Specifically, it assessed the relationship between green compensation structure, green employee relations, green training development, and green recruitment on the operational performance of the Nigerian Manufacturing Industry, Benin City, Edo State. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study covered all staff in the randomly selected organisations in manufacturing firms in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. A total of 100 copies of questionnaire were distributed and retrieved. Simple random sampling procedure was used in administering the copies of questionnaire to selected organisations in manufacturing firms in Benin City, Nigeria. The data collected through questionnaire administration was analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the null hypotheses and estimate the research model using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) technique through the use of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 20.

The study found out that there is a significant positive relationship between green compensation structure, green employee relations, green training development, and green recruitment on operational performance of The Nigerian Manufacturing Industry, Benin City, Edo State.

The study recommended that the manufacturing firms should continually adopt green compensation structure by rewarding, recognising and increasing the pay of deserving employees, develop effective mechanism for preserving and enhancing green employee relations as such would ensure optimum green practices by everyone within the organisation, consistently conduct green training and development in order to ensure sustainability in green practices, improve on their green recruitment practices thereby improving the overall firms’ operational performance.
