ABSTRACT

This research work examined Nigeria Foreign Policy and the effect of globalization on Nigeria Economy from a time frame of 2015 to 2020. The research work further examined the historical nature of Nigeria foreign policy as the Big Brother of Africa alongside the present state of Nigeria whether or not Nigeria still occupies that position and influence. Nigeria is being seen as the giant of Africa due to some human and natural endowment which other African countries do not have. Moreover many potentials are yet to be actualized in Nigeria. If these potentials are actualized, Nigeria will graduate from third nation to a first world nation. If we must get the right people to lead Nigeria, political offices should be made less attractive so as to get selfless individuals to lead us with the right ambitions and vision. Another thing which Nigerian leaders must not fail to do is to empower institutions to function properly. Some of these institutions should be made independent. For example, the judiciary, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).
