ABSTRACT

Adequate groundwater exploration and management appears to be the key to ensure that potable and safe water is available for the entire population of ADOLOR and environ and that its availability on a sustainable basis is guaranteed. 2-D electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) has been extensively used for many years for groundwater exploration. The technique is employed together with drilling for determination of groundwater resource availability. The study was conducted at ADOLOR Environs in Ovia South East Local Government area of Edo State to Locate and quantify the presence of groundwater resource in the area. A total of 3 Transverses and one VES was employed for this study. Dipole Dipole electrode array was employed with minimum electrode separation of 10m and a profile length of 280m and a depth of 60m was achieved for each transverse. The result was later subjected to geostatistical analysis and inverted using the Dipro Software. Geophysical results revealed that study area 1.
