ABSTRACT
Gender inequality is a significant problem that has been around for a very long time. Even though progress has been made in society and people are more aware of women's rights, it is yet to be completely solved. In many places, especially in Africa, women have often been treated unfairly. Men usually get more important roles while women are put in less important positions. This problem is so notable that it is talked about in literature, which is like a mirror reflecting society. In this essay, gender inequality and women’s perception is examined. How women view themselves, drawing examples from the primary texts, Buchi Emecheta’s Second Class Citizen and Nawal El Saadwi’s Woman at Point Zero. In a different section of the essay, the outcomes of gender inequality are also indicated. The various negative effects that arise from treating women unfairly are analyzed. Society has formed a world where men are considered more valuable, often sidelining women. It's astonishing that loved ones can be perpetrators of gender bais. Gender inequality is a highly negative issue, and it is a highly negative issue, and its harmful effects can not be emphasized enough
