ABSTRACTThe study examined gender bias and cultural stereotype on the girl child education in Oluku, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to select (5) five secondary schools from the schools in the local government and from each school, twenty (20) teachers were selected from the schools, making a total of 100. Three (3) research questions were raised and three (3) hypotheses were formulated to guide the research. Data was collected through the aid of a questionnaire reflecting multiple choice questions requiring Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D), Strongly Disagree (SD) answers and a total number of One hundred (100) copies were made and distributed. The Chi-Square statistical method was used to test the hypothesis of the study and simple percentage was used for the research questions.The findings of the research revealed that there is no significant relationship between gender bias, cultural stereotype and the girl child education.
