ABSTRACT
With the advancement of modern technology, more and more data are being recorded continuously during a time interval such as the ICU monitor used in the hospital to record the hate rate, blood pressure, and body temperature of patients or at several discrete time points such as height. These are both examples of functional data, which has become a commonly encountered type of data. The analysis of such data poses a lot of challenge, in this project we are going to attempt to look at functional data, display the basic concept and use Python to do multiple linear regression for the data. We used Python to calculate multiple linear regression because of the enormous data available, using hand is not feasible and this project illustrates how to use Python for multiple linear regression. Functional data analysis (FDA) includes the statistical methodology for such data. Broadly interpreted, FDA deals with the analysis and theory of data that are in the form of functions.
