ABSTRACT
These work deals on the agonies of colonialism as results to the situation of the every black man and have pristinely done a great job in depicting the agonies and sad tales of the blackmen in the apartheid era, using Dennis Brutus poems in his collection titled "A Simple Lust". This book duly portrays how the blacks were treated and how they were reduced to inferior physically and psychological by the inhumane authorities and laws in the colonial South Africa. The poems tell us how cold and lonely the prisons are. It also talks about how they managed to navigate their way out of this trials by remained hopeful ab tender as violence will only delay their victory. The research also looks at the clear definition of class where the white are the clear form of the bourgeoisie who controls everything while the blacks are part of the very oppressed proletariat, who are made to feed off scraps.
