ABSTRACT

Foraminiferal micropaleontology of sequence stratigraphy in MN-1 well Niger Delta Basin were carried out using foraminiferal biostratigraphy as geologic tools. The foraminiferal abundances revealed six bio zones, P680, P670, P650, P630, P628, P580 which were suggested based on index species among the recovered foraminiferal assemblages while the maximum flooding surface has five peaks 5140ft, 8175ft, 9507ft, 12130ft, and 10560ft. A total of two thousand four hundred and sixy nine (2469) foraminiferal species were recorded, most of the species recorded are planktic foraminiferal calcareous and arenaceous benthic foraminiferal species. The evaluation of these foraminiferal species enable me to recognize the zones. The studied intervals in the wells are dated from Middle Miocene Early Oligocene and could be of immense help to further work in the area.
