SUMMARY
This research examined folktales of the Itsekiri people of Koko town in Warri Kingdom. The first chapter was an introduction to the essay. It talks about the purpose of the study, the scope the research covers and the methodology used in the course of the research. It then touches a little on the socio-cultural background of the Itsekiri people, pointing out some of the tales and folklores surrounding the origin, emergence, and history of the Itsekiri people. The chapter then engages the literature review to examine related works and views on the preoccupation of the research. It then ends with a thesis statement that guides the essay.
