ABSTRACT
This study evaluates film and political issues in Nigeria, some selected Nollywood films precisely 4th Republic, Love is War and if I am a president are critically examined to address the issues of electoral violence in the Nigerian political system. The study employsboth historical and literary methodology. Historical methodology recounts the evolution of film and politics in Nigeria, while the literary methodology reveals the contribution of Nollywood towards political stability in Nigeria. The textual analysis gives a good insight to how the films understudied depicts the issues of electoral fraud using dialogues. The study concluded that through these films, Nollywood has effectively explored, exposed and condemned some activities of Nigeria politicians and even proofered commendable solutions to the issues affecting Nigeria's political system. This study therefore recommends that for Nigeria to achieve political stability, there is the need to conduct mass electoral orientation and sensitization.
