Summary
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the factors responsible for mass failure of students in English language among junior secondary schools, in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State using five different junior secondary schools. It addresses how lack of teaching aids, negative attitude of students, poor learning environment and facilities toward education affect the academic performance of some junior secondary schools in the local government of study. The survey research design was used for the study. During the course of this study, five research questions were designed. 280 questionnaires based on the research questions were administered after validation to students and teachers of the five junior secondary schools of study. Data from the questionnaire were percentage represented in tables and were analyzed in simple.
