FACTORS INFLUENCING PARTICIPATION IN RECREATION AMONG ACADEMIC STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN KINETICS AND SPORT SCIENCE

ABSTRACT

This study was designed to appraise the factors influencing participation in recreation among academic staff  in the Department of Human Kinetics and Sports Science, University of Benin. A total of fourteen (14) respondents who are Human Kinetics academic staff ( males 12 and  females 2)  in the Department of Human Kinetics and Sports Science of Benin participated in the  study. Instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire which was developed by the researcher. It was validated by two (2) experts in the field of Human Kinetics and Sports Science.The frequency count and percentage were used to analyse the demographic information of respondents. Mean and standard deviation were used to analyse the response of the respondents.
