Factors influencing clinical learning experience

ABSTRACT

This study on the factors influencing clinical learning experience of students in a tertiary health institution in Benin city, Edo state shows the introduction to the study which includes; the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions which assessed the environmental factors that influences clinical learning, students attitude towards clinical learning and the influence of professional nurses on students clinical learning experience. The literature reviewed various works that have previously been carried out in various places concerning clinical learning experience.

The research methodology, which is a quantitative descriptive design with a population of 227 respondents. The population was selected conveniently and data was collected with the use of questionnaire. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviation and were presented in tables where applicable. Most of the respondents reported unsuitable environment for clinical learning, showed negative attitude towards clinical learning and professional nurses had a positive influence towards students clinical learning experience.. Findings of the study were discussed using research questions and relationship with relevant literature reviewed was also carried out.
