ABSTRACT

This study determined the factors influencing the academic performance of students in Business Education in University of Benin. Four research questions were raised to guide the study and one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study employed a descriptive survey research design. The population of this study consisted of one hundred and ninety one (191) business education students from 300 level and 400 level in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, University of Benin. The sample size of this study was made up of 96 Business Education students in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, University of Benin. The proportional sampling techniques was used to select 50% of 300 level as well as 400 level students which gave a total of 96 students. The instrument used for data collection for this study was a structured questionnaire titled Factors Influencing the Academic Performance of Students in Business Education (FIAPSBE).
