ABSTRACT
This study was to analyze the Factors Hindering Workshop Practice in the Effective Teaching and Learning of Automobile Technology in Technical colleges, Edo state. All technical students currently studying Automobile Technology from vocation 1, vocation 2 and vocation 3 in were used for this study. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire, which was developed and administered to vocation 1, vocation 2 and vocation 3 of automobile technology students in Technical Colleges, Edo state. The data from their responses were analyzed with the use of four-point rating scale. The findings from the study revealed that that lack of fund hinders workshop practice in the teaching and learning of automobile technology in the Technical Colleges to a high extent. The analysis further revealed that to a high extent lack of qualified lecturers hinder workshop practice in the teaching and learning of automobile technology in the Technical Colleges. Finally, it was revealed that students’ poor learning attitude hinder workshop practice in the effective teaching and learning of automobile technology in the Technical Colleges to a high extent. Based on the findings it is therefore recommended that the government should wake up to their responsibility by ensuring that adequate funds are provided to improve the quality and standard of Automobile Technology across all the Technical Colleges in Nigeria.
