ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to determine the factors affecting the performance of History students in Senior Secondary School in Umuahia LGA, Edo State The parental status was examined using parental involvement, parental income, parental education level and parental motivational level on student academic performance Literatures were reviewed on the variables of the study four research questions were raised and answered with descriptive statistic of frequency counts and percentages. A total of 100 students from senior secondary schools in the locale were sampled for the study. The summary of the findings showed that there was significant relationship between parental involvement and students' academic performance of Public Secondary Schools in Umuahua LGA. Abia State there was significant relationship between parental education level and students' academic performance of Secondary School, there was significant relationship between parental income level and students academic performance, there was significant relationship between parental motivation level and students' academic performance of Secondary Schools and there was significant relationship between parental motivation and students' academic performance of Secondary Schools.
