ABSTRACT

This aim of the study was to examine the factors affecting the implementation of Physical education curriculum in Secondary Schools in Edo state. To guide the study, four research questions were raised wich are outlined thus: To what extent is inadequate sports facilities and equipment affecting the implementation iof Physical education in secondary Schools in Edo State? To what extent is inadequate teachers affecting the implementation of Physical education in secondary Schools in Edo State? To what extent is time allocation affecting the implementation of Physical education in secondary Schools in Edo state. To what extent is inadequate training and retraining of physical education teahers affecting the implementation of physical education in secondary schools in Edo State? 

The correlation research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study consisted of 236 teachers from the different secondary schools in Edo state Ovia North East. The sample size of the study comprised of 236 iteachers. The validity of the study was determined by the researcher’s supervisor and two others in the Department of Human Kinetics and sports science. The Cronbach alpha statistics result gotten from the reliability tet were 0.77, indicatin that theiinstrument was reliable.
