ABSTRACT
This study investigated the Factors Affecting Choices of Family Planning Methods among Women Attending Antenatal Care in Central Hospital, Benin City .Four well-structured research questions were formulated to guide the study and nineteen questions were administered to the respondents to collect response from them. The descriptive survey research was adopted while the target population was 300 women of reproductive age (15-49 years) attending family planning clinic in Central Hospital in Benin City. To conduct the study, 100 respondents were used for the study to select respondents using the simple random sampling technique.
Findings from the study shows that fear of infertility influence women behavioural choice towards family planning method, it showed the role of social workers in the determination of family choices of women attending family planningThe research concludes that family planning are better placed for growth and expansion if the nation actually seek the light of economic growth and development.
The following recommendations were made: that the government should encourage the expansion of family planning providers by creating an enabling environment. This can be done by enacting laws that will protect family planning activities in the country and uneducated women should be encourage to be educated (Adult educated). As this will go a long way in terms of enlightenment, not just about family planning alone but in other sector of the economy.
